Photography: Changes on the commute
Over the past few years my home city has been going through a redevelopment phase. New office blocks are popping up on the skyline due to the migration of staff from the south, with the likes of HSBC adding additional workspace. Corners of land around the city in areas such as Digbeth and highgate are seeing expensive prison cell sized apartments been thrown up quicker than a parking ticket slapped on a windscreen.
Of course with the addition of this new architecture sees the loss of old and in my cities case ,it has been the brutal architecture of the 60's and 70's. This has sparked mixed opinion as some aren't keen on glass and steel with others despising concrete of old. Politics and debates aside time change and we've captured some of the demolition and development while on our commutes through the city centre.
